The Vortex 3D scan and print bureau in Rotorua operates a wide range of MarkForged 3D printers, as part of the complete service offering of 3D scanning, reverse engineering, CAD design, prototyping, 3D printing and post machining (if required). The design and print experts at Vortex 3D are available for consultation on planning for your prototyping and production requirements.

Machining specialist

Vortex 3D is a division of Vortex Group Limited. Founded in 2015, the Vortex Group has vast experience in traditional machining, specialising in the hydropower generation industry. In 2016 Vortex acquired a precision engineering workshop (founded in 1967), adding to the in-house machining capability. After 12 years of work in the hydro generation industry, Vortex Group’s founder Jevon Priestley seized the opportunity to form a new business with a highly competitive approach to supplying the growing demand for renewable energy solutions. A wide variety of precision engineering and heavy engineering is now undertaken in the Rotorua production facility.

3D printing has been in-use at Vortex since 2018, with a major investment in metal and carbon fibre 3D printing in 2022.
